Maryborough FNC Application for Provisional Membership not Approved
Following a formal vote conducted on Wednesday, 9 July, the McDonald’s Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League (MCDFNL) advises that the application from the Maryborough Football Netball Club (MFNC) for provisional membership has not been approved.
The application was considered by all affiliated member clubs, following an extensive process that included the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), consultation with AFL Victoria, and multiple visits between MCDFNL affiliated member clubs and the Maryborough Football Netball Club. Ultimately, the vote did not yield the required 75% majority support for provisional entry.
MCDFNL President, Paul Wicks, acknowledged the work undertaken by Maryborough FNC to put together the proposal efforts of their committee behind the scenes to get the senior club up and running again.
“We know that the MFNC will be disappointed with this outcome. Their committee has worked hard in an effort to bring the Club out of recess and find a new League to compete in.”
“The process for the MFNC to apply has been fair and transparent, and they have presented themselves well. However, unfortunately, without the majority support from the MCDFNL members, their application was unsuccessful.” Mr Wicks said.
